Second Alarm Working Fire 29th Street and Washington

It's been a Looooooooong time since my last post. I just have not been to any fires.

My sister texted me about this one. It started about 1:30pm.

Responding units: Engine 1, Engine 4 , Engine 5, Engine 8, Engine 11, Engine 12, Engine 29, Engine 61, Rescue 11, Car 99, Car 957 North, Public information Officer 3, Resource Management 50, Squad 8, Ladder 1, Ladder 11, Battalion Chief 1, Battalion Chief 2, Battalion Chief 5, Battalion Chief 8, DC1, SDC, Fire Investigator 12, Fire Investigator 13, Command Resource Vehicle, Command Resource Vehicle A, Command Resource Vehicle B, Command Resource Vehicle C, Command Resource Vehicle D, Utility 29 and Phoenix "take the fun out of everything" Police.

What would Brunacini say? "When the ladders go up, the building comes down."
I miss the old PFD when they fought fires and didn't "tend them".

All the local news is reporting about is that the stupid worthless lite rail was not running.

3 in 1 House fire 27th street and Willetta

Its been a long time since I have been to a fire. I was going home today and as I was exiting the freeway I saw smoke. It looked like it was near Mcdowell and 27th st. I headed that way and as usual PFD beat me to it, as well as the police.

The house was going pretty good with flames coming out the front, but as you can see in the video it was being put out as I got there.

The Good old Days of the 2-11 Association

I was going through some old papers and found an envelope that contained these gems. It seems that back in the 60's you had to ask permission to monitor the Phoenix Fire Departments transmissions. How this would be enforced is beyond me, especially back then, but whatever. The request was printed on what looks like Vellum or Parchment. The response was in bad shape, very dark, and hard to read.

The Request
The Response.
Oh and this blog is not dead, I just have no way to chase fires, because of my job and such.

3-in-1 House Fire

It's been a long time since my last post. This call came in around 14:00 for a 3-in-1 at 2950 n. 21st st. in Phoenix. Stations 5, 11, and 61 with Station 5 first due. Fire appears to have been in the attic. Fire was out in about 15 minutes. Stop loss in about 21. Here is the video:

Birds Eye View

Been a long time without a post. Here is a special birds eye View of Engine 29 responding to an aid call at an apartment complex near where we were flying our model airplanes. The pilot at the time was my nephew Daniel.
The screen cap was taken from a small spy camera mounted on the airplane. The Camera can be found here.
